Do you want to know about Punjab Golf Association?

The Punjab Golf Association (PGA) is affiliated with Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) / Punjab Olympic Association (POA) and Punjab Sports Board (PSB). PGA came into existence in 1960 to fill a void existed since 1947. A die hard one of Railways Golf Club Lahore, Tajuddin Salimi pursued with vigor the formation of PGF and PGA along with other provincial associations.

Initially the PGA had only three golf clubs under it’s’ umbrella and these were Lahore Gymkhana, Railways Golf Club and Rawalpindi Golf Club. At present, number of clubs are 26. The office of PGA is established at Lahore Garrison Greens (Garrison Golf Club).

Objects of PGA

  • To promote and develop the game of Golf in the Province of the Punjab. 
  • To exercise control on golf in the Punjab, particularly with reference to the rules and regulation for the conduct of the game and managing the affairs of all the golfers of the Punjab, belonging to and registered with the member golf clubs.
  • To coordinate golfing activities including holding of tournaments, seminars, course training, and coaching.
  • To collect funds and acquire property both moveable and immovable for the purpose of the Punjab Golf Association.
  • To select teams and officials to represent Punjab Golf Association and to promote, control and finance visits by such teams to other provinces in the country and abroad.
  • To assist in maintaining a uniform system of handicapping of golfers of all clubs of the Punjab.
  • To assist the member clubs in the layout and upkeep of golf courses.
  • Be affiliated to and work under the aegis of the Pakistan Golf Federation, Punjab Olympic Association and the Punjab Sports Board.
  • Generally to do all such acts and things as may seem to the Punjab Golf Association convenient and or conducive for carrying out the objects of the Association.
